NON LINEAR EDITING
Course Description:
The objective of this course is to framiliarize students with a working practical
knowledge of and a language for describing moving image editing. This is an
intensive class that covers all facets of traditional and non traditional forms
of video editing running the gamut from over the counter home movie devices
to professional high end editing equipment including a Beta Cam Real time Avid
system. Typically we will spend most of our time working with Final Cut Pro
using Mini DV video.
Topics covered:
Basic Hardware software components of each system.
Capuring, storing, managing, and editing video and audio material.
Integration of camera technology with the editing and sound system.
Traditional Continuity Editing Techniques.
Advanced compositing techniques for video i.e. motion graphics and advance sound design.
DVD authoring for those inclinded to use the work for installation purposes
